NOVEMBER 2020
The November physical meeting was an video of a walk through of Paul Souls aviary set up. A good crowd enjoyed this presentation by Paul and click here to view.

OCTOBER 2020
October saw the first physical meeting since the early part of the year. John Mulley spoke on Crested and Tufted whilst Wayne weidenhofer talked about Whitecaps. A really interesting night.

We were lucky to host 2 of Australias finest Budgie breeders in September via Online meetings. The first saw Henry George talk. Click here to view.

AUGUST 2020
August again sees 2 online aviary visits. A fantastic doubly whammy saw the McGovern Partnership of the UK. See Link. Followed by R & M Miller of the UK. See Link. Both Partnerships are multiple winners of the Budgerigar Society World Show.
JULY 2020
Due to the popularity of the previous onlive aviary visits we were fortunate to host 2 meetings. The first was to Gary Gazzard of NSW. See Link. The second was to Victorian breeder Peter Thurn. See Link.
JUNE 2020
June's meeting saw a visit to Mike Ball of the UK. An very interesting view into his routines. See link
MAY 2020
The May meeting was an online visit to Maarten Heylen an well known International Breeder. See link
APRIL 2020
This was BSSA's first online meeting. It was a talk on Lutino's and the pairings and expectations of using sex linked varieties by Jim Butterworth.
MARCH 2020
Kelwyn Kakoschke talked on the origins and different types of Dominant & Recessive Pieds. He brought along a selection of his birds to highlight the difference within the variety and a couple of examples of split recessives and the importance of their use.
FEBRUARY 2020
The AGM was held on 4th February 2020. All positions were filled as required. Life Membership was awarded to Glen Stearns.
JANUARY 2020
January's meeting was a social dinner at the Watermark Hotel in Glenelg. It was well attended and a great night was had by all.
DECEMBER 2019
In a change to the advertised speaker George England stepped in at short notice to discuss his experiences and thoughts on breeding quality budgerigars. He answered a variety of questions from the floor and it was well received by those who attended.
NOVEMBER 2019
The November meeting incorporated the Presidents Cup and an informal talk by Ian Wise on breeding and showing budgies in the UK and the different challenges faced with the different climate. This was followed by The Presidents Cup. 10 Birds were benched with their ring number ending in 7. This was voted on by all the members in attendance. Of the 5 Hens the winner was adjudged to be George England & Sons Normal Grey Hen and the winner of the 5 Cock birds was Ian & Gina Wise's Normal Light Green. Thanks to everyone who attended, benched birds and to the 2 winners.
OCTOBER 2019
The October meeting was held on 1st October 2019. The night commenced with a minutes silence for Ian McEwan who sadly passed away recently. The large attendance were treated to a video link with Peter Thurn who spoke about his method to improve the Fallow variety. Peter showed the quality of Fallows and split Fallows needed to move the variety forward. Troy Holmes then gave a presentation on how he selects and pairs, highlighting the need to continually 'double up' features within the birds to become prepotent in that feature. The evening closed with a talk from Ian Marshall on the Lacewing variety and his thoughts on the ideal pairings. A very interesting evening and our thanks go to Peter, Troy and Ian on making it a very interesting and informative night.
